Instruction / Testimonials & Praise

Mary Diruscio:

It's now official—Nadia made the Vaughan Flames Peewee BB team! She'll be playing defence. I noticed that she skated extra hard tonight at practice—I guess she wanted to prove to the coach that she belongs on this team—and I think he was pleased with her performance. There's no doubt in my mind that this is all thanks to you two for motivating her. The meeting with you on Saturday was a "last ditch effort" to keep her interested in hockey. It worked!!! She's really happy now that she's on the team and back playing with some of her former teammates. I am greatly appreciative for your time, for sharing your stories and just for your overall genuine kindness. It may not seem like much from your end, but it really made a difference by changing her attitude. Both for Sunday's 3 on 3 game and for tonight's practice, she showed that certain enthusiasm towards going to the arena that had been lacking since April. Thanks again.

Sorcha, Weiland Hockey student:

Kerry—I used the puck protection trick you taught me against the boards in our game Saturday. I kept the puck and made the ‘play of the game’ according to our best player. I love those tricks and will be practicing everyday once outdoor rinks open—thank you!

Suzanne, Weiland Hockey student:

Kerry—Thank you so much for all the fun in learning how to skate with a puck, cross-over backwards, etc.! My 14 year old son is so jealous that I am learning from a USA team player.

Elizabeth Taylor, Weiland Hockey student:

Kerry’s classes are a highlight of my week: great exercise, and of course my hockey game has so greatly improved I can’t quite believe it. Kerry keeps all of us working hard and is able to address all levels of player. She knows her stuff and it’s fun to watch her skate too.

Catherine Wachter, Weiland Hockey student:

I have been taking Kerry's skill class for almost 10 weeks now. Two things have surprised me during this time: one, my ability to learn and improve happened quickly and two, this was a direct result of the coaching I received. Kerry has the ability to break down the the mechanics of hockey so well that learning to skate becomes as easy as putting together a simple puzzle. Each week I look to Kerry for that next piece which enables me to trust myself more when I push myself out of my comfort level. I look forward to each class; I receive attention, support and always a smile from Kerry. Even as I start to play hockey outside the class, I will continue to work with Kerry in the long run—she's just that good!

Tim Rochon, Head Coach, Atom Tier 1 "A", Durham West Girls Hockey Association

Kerry has been instrumental in bringing out the best in the DWGHA young girls hockey team. Kerry's energy, skill and knowledge of the game have been particularly helpful in helping the Atom Team progress and outpace the competition's development. Kerry not only instructs the girls, but demonstrates drills with terrific enthusiasm and unparalleled skills. Her enthusiastic approach is noted in both the on-ice demonstrations and her connection with the players themselves. Girls come off the ice both sweating, and smiling! That combined with noticeable improvement in skating and hockey skills was exactly what the coaching staff hoped for—and it was (and continues to be) delivered. The DWGHA Atom Tier 1 team wholeheartedly endorses Kerry's training program.

Pam Neely:

Kerry Weiland is not only an extraordinary hockey player, but she also is a very knowledgeable and skilled hockey instructor who demonstrates professionalism, encouragement, and a good sense humor while on the ice. I had hired Kerry for some private lessons and was very pleased dealing with her; she was well organized, punctual, and very supportive. After Kerry assessed my hockey ability, she then developed the drills which helped to improve my level of play. I strongly recommend Kerry, as an instructor, to anyone who wants to improve his/her hockey game. From Kerry's #1 fan.
